En Estados Unidos, la mayor festividad anual, Thanskiging o Acción de gracias, conmemora y celebra la hermandad entre los nuevos colonos anglos y los nativos indígenas que los salvaron del frío y del hambre, un invierno allá a principios del siglo XVII. Los indígenas le dieron la bienvenida a los intrusos europeos y pocos años después los intrusos masacraron a los mismos nativos porque eran salvajes.
La historia de masacres sin fin de salvajes en nombre de la civilización y de la libertad se repetirá por siglos, al mismo tiempo que la tierna tradición de Acción de gracias se consolidará año trás año por los siglos por venir. Cada año, en Estados Unidos los cristianos se sirven suculentas cenas para dar gracias por ser tan buena gente.
Por generaciones, durante esta festividad se sacrificarán más de cuarenta millones de pavos, razón por la cual en la Casa Blanca el presidente de Estados Unidos deberá perdonar a uno de ellos, un representante de la minoría paviana, un pavo blanco, para demostrar la bondad del poder.
Algo así como el famoso fair play de los ingleses, según el cual sólo los civilizados y desarrollados veneran el respeto por las reglas y así dan lecciones contra la corrupción de los salvajes. No por casualidad, un invento del imperio que más países invadió y que más reglas violó alrededor del mundo por algunos pocos siglos.
